The data released by the Macao Special Administrative Region Government Statistics and Census Bureau on the 17th showed that in the first half of this year, there were 20.944 million inbound tourists, an increase of 9% compared to the same period last year. Among them, the number of Mainland Chinese tourists and international tourists increased by 11% and 6% respectively. Analyzing the source of tourists, the number of Mainland Chinese tourists in the first half of the year increased by 11% to 15.286 million, with 8.417 million individual tourists, an increase of 13.6% compared to the same period last year. There were 3.659 million tourists from Hong Kong and 575,000 from Taiwan, a year-on-year increase of 0.3% and 24.7% respectively. The number of international tourists in the first half of the year was 1.422 million, an increase of 6% compared to the same period last year.
