Shandong initiates Level III emergency response for flood and typhoon prevention.
The meteorological observatory of Shandong Province issued a typhoon yellow warning, a heavy rain blue warning, and a coastal strong wind yellow warning at 11:30 on July 11. It is expected that the outer cloud system of Typhoon "Bavi" will begin to affect Shandong Province on the afternoon of the 12th, accompanied by short-term heavy rainfall, with maximum hourly precipitation of 60-90 millimeters. Heavy rainfall will mainly concentrate on the 13th and 14th, with Jinan, Zaozhuang, Linyi, Rizhao, the eastern part of Taian, the southern part of Jinan, the southern part of Zibo, Weifang, Qingdao, Yantai, and Weihai experiencing heavy to heavy rainfall, locally heavy rainstorms, while other areas may experience locally heavy rainfall or heavy rain. According to the "Shandong Province Flood Control and Drought Relief Emergency Response Plan", considering the unpredictability, extremity, and disaster-causing ability of typhoons, after consultation and assessment, the Shandong Provincial Flood Control and Typhoon Prevention Headquarters decided to activate a Level III emergency response to flood control and typhoon prevention at 14:00 on July 11.
