Diversified breakthrough! The application of liquefied natural gas to produce methane for the Long March series of rockets for the first time.
Yesterday, it was learned from China Petrochemical Corporation that the Long March 10B carrier rocket successfully achieved grid recycling in Hainan, marking the first large-scale application of high-purity methane new aerospace fuel prepared by liquefied natural gas. This signifies a key technological breakthrough in the diversification of fuel supply for China's commercial aerospace industry. The Long March 10B is a two-stage reusable carrier rocket developed specifically for the commercial aerospace market in China, with a core diameter of 5 meters and 100% localization of core components. As China's first commercially reusable carrier rocket using liquid oxygen methane propellant, the purity of methane fuel used in this launch reached 98.7%, all of which is domestically supplied.
