Qatar appears to have a liquefied natural gas carrier entering the Hormuz Strait for navigation. This is the first visible passing ship in nearly a week, as the country, a major global exporter of liquefied natural gas, is striving to quickly restore export capacity. Ship tracking data shows that a tanker that completed loading at the Ras Laffan liquefied natural gas export base in Qatar earlier this week has been monitored heading towards the Hormuz Strait. However, the ship subsequently turned off its location signal, and it is currently unclear whether it will continue to navigate this channel. Ship tracking information shows that several empty liquefied natural gas carriers are heading towards the eastern entrance of the Hormuz Strait along the southern route of Oman. One of them has already crossed the strait, while another is sailing towards the northeastern coastal waters of Oman.
