According to CNBC, US President Trump avoided answering questions about whether the government would hold a 5% stake in OpenAI during an interview. Previously, the Financial Times reported on this potential transaction. In response to the questions, Trump did not give a direct answer but instead talked about the government's ownership of Intel when it was struggling at the time. The US government announced in August last year that it would invest $8.9 billion in Intel common stock to acquire 10% of the company. Trump said, "Intel came to me with a problem and I said, 'I can solve your problem but I want 10% of the company."
