According to a recent report by German magazine "Der Spiegel", the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany has approved the Chinese e-commerce company JD's 2.2 billion Euro acquisition of German electronic retail company Ceconomy, but with certain conditions. A spokesperson for the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy stated in a statement on Tuesday that after assessing the potential impact of the transaction on Germany's public order and security, the ministry approved the plan, but with certain conditions: the Chinese tech company must ensure that the personal data of Ceconomy's German customers is protected. In addition, the German government will also have extensive supervision and control rights, and if there are violations in the future, the government has the right to revoke the approval.
