Soliciting opinions on new regulations for the production of infant and young child complementary foods.
On July 1st, it was learned that the new version of the "Infant and Young Child Auxiliary Food Production License Review Rules" has begun to solicit public opinions, and the new regulations further tighten the license requirements and improve product quality. The draft of the new version of the regulations proposes stricter control requirements for the raw materials of infant and young child auxiliary foods. Focusing on the risks associated with raw materials, it requires strict implementation of the new national standards, prohibits the use of honey, and guards against risks such as botulism poisoning. It also calls for on-site inspections of major raw material suppliers and necessary testing of potentially adulterated or fake substances. The draft solicits opinions on the requirement for production companies to establish a system for auditing raw material suppliers and managing procurement acceptance: on-site quality and safety audits of major raw material suppliers or manufacturers of rice, millet, wheat, fruits and vegetables, livestock and poultry, aquatic products, milk and dairy products, vitamins, and trace elements; in addition, full project inspection reports of raw materials must be checked before they are stored in the warehouse; livestock and poultry must come from scale-controlled or self-controlled large-scale breeding facilities, and the use of raw materials sourced from individual breeders is strictly prohibited.
