The Taiwanese military admits to using mainland Chinese brand tires, and netizens on the island mock them.
According to Taiwan's Zhongtian News website, on June 29th, the "Political News Bureau" fan page on Facebook posted that the Democratic Progressive Party's "non-red supply chain" has been exposed again, with the Taiwan authorities' "Army Logistics Command" found to have purchased tires from mainland China. The post included a picture of a Taiwanese "light tactical wheeled vehicle," clearly showing the spare tire at the back with the English logo of a professional tire manufacturer based in Qingdao, China, called "Sailun." The Taiwan "Army Command" confirmed on June 30th that the military vehicles in the circulating image indeed used tires from a mainland Chinese brand, which were purchased in 2020. Some netizens in Taiwan expressed, "Resisting China is a slogan, but being pro-China is a way of life" and "The 'Green Bird' is really dumbfounded, wanting to protect the actions of the Democratic Progressive Party but unable to say it out loud."
