According to the Financial Times report on the 27th, six informed sources revealed that in order to alleviate the cost pressure brought by the rise in memory chip prices, Apple is lobbying the US government to approve the purchase of memory chips from Chinese semiconductor company CMIC Storage. Apple rarelly raised prices for MacBook and iPad this Thursday, with the company's market value evaporating by $263 billion in a single day, marking the second largest single-day decline in history. Apple attributed the price increase to "unbearable" memory prices, stating that they will pass on the cost to consumers, and many other consumer electronics manufacturers have taken similar pricing measures. If CMIC Storage can be included in the memory supply chain, it will alleviate Apple's dilemma of being squeezed by upstream suppliers.
