Three informed sources revealed that the American defense company Anduril Industries is in talks to acquire Nissan's Zama assembly plant near Tokyo, hoping to use it to produce military drones in Japan. Although they stated that the two sides have not made any decisions on the deal yet, the completion of any agreement could potentially turn one of Japan's earliest large car factories into a weapons manufacturing center. The sources indicated that Nissan is currently in talks with other potential buyers while Anduril still needs to obtain orders from the Japanese military to prove the legitimacy of their purchase.
