Computing power fiber demand is resonating, and the prosperity of high-purity silicon tetrachloride is on the rise.

Driven by the construction of computing power and the upgrade of communication networks, the demand for high-purity tetrachlorosilane in the market has continued to rise since the beginning of this year. High-purity tetrachlorosilane is mainly used in the production of optical fiber preforms and synthetic quartz glass. It is understood that, benefiting from the global prosperity of optical fibers, high-purity tetrachlorosilane has entered a price increase cycle due to scarcity. An industry insider revealed that currently, most of the sales of high-purity tetrachlorosilane in the market are based on long-term contracts with locked prices, and since last year, long-term contract prices have seen a significant increase. By the end of 2025, the reference price for long-term contracts of 9N-grade high-purity tetrachlorosilane for optical fibers was around 25,000 yuan per ton, and in the first quarter of this year, the corresponding reference price for long-term contracts had risen to around 45,000 yuan per ton, with a temporary price increase of about 80%.
