Guo Mingkui, an analyst at Tianfeng International Securities, recently conducted an industry study indicating that Google will develop an upgraded version of the TPU v9/Humufish chip, possibly codenamed Triggerfish, and that this order will be exclusively obtained by MediaTek at a higher price. With a consistent shipment estimate of 4-5 million Humufish chips in its lifecycle, Google plans to add an additional 1-2 million Triggerfish chips, with production expected to start at the end of 2027 and mass production in 2028. Due to the higher price of the Triggerfish chip, approximately 30% higher than the Humufish chip, it is expected to contribute to MediaTek's operational performance in 2028.
