Chongqing Guangyang Island Power Triangular Wing Crash Investigation Report Released
On April 4th, around 15:30, a powered hang glider accident occurred on Guangyang Island in Nanan District, Chongqing, resulting in one fatality, one injury, and damage to the powered hang glider. On June 18th, the Nanan District Emergency Management Bureau of Chongqing issued an accident investigation report, which concluded that the accident was a general production safety liability accident caused by the failure of the company to establish a safety risk classification and control system, implement corresponding control measures, and inadequate inspection of potential accidents. The accident investigation team suggested that the actual controller of Tianmeng Company and the pilot involved, Jiang, had been flying without authorization for a long time, failed to eliminate the hidden dangers of kite lines, did not properly equip passengers with helmets, and bore direct and leadership responsibilities for the accident, with his actions suspected of constituting a major liability accident offense, and recommended transferring the case to the judicial authorities for legal action. Tianmeng Company, Chongqing Taxi Company, and the Guangyang Island Tourism Branch are recommended to be administratively punished by the Nanan District Emergency Management Bureau for violating relevant provisions of the Safety Production Law of the People's Republic of China.
