Three departments issued the Implementation Rules for Network Security Labeling of Consumer Networked Cameras.
The Cyberspace Administration of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Public Security recently issued the Implementation Rules for Network Security Labels for Consumer Internet-connected Cameras. The rules specify that the network security labels for consumer internet-connected cameras correspond to three levels of network security capabilities from low to high, namely basic level, enhanced level, and advanced level, with the corresponding label grades being one star, two stars, and three stars respectively. The rules apply to the filing and use of network security labels for consumer internet-connected cameras. Consumer internet-connected cameras refer to independent cameras purchased and used by individual consumers or organizations to provide audio and video information collection and processing services and have internet connectivity functions. They do not apply to cameras in the public safety sector.
