The US Department of Justice is investigating the connection between the flow of funds from Mujeetabad and Wall Street banks.
According to foreign media reports, US officials have revealed that the US Department of Justice is investigating how Iran's Supreme Leader, Majeed Tababa, has built up a vast global investment portfolio and the connections between this portfolio and Wall Street banks. This move stems from a wide-ranging investigation into money laundering and corruption allegations. Sources familiar with the matter have stated that investigators have begun reviewing US financial institutions, including JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup, to determine if they assisted in transferring large sums of money between companies controlled by Majeed Tababa. The Department of Justice is looking into these transactions, including the role played by US correspondent banks. Investigators are hoping to understand Majeed Tababa's financial network and identify any potential loopholes in the due diligence processes of US financial institutions. Three sources have stated that banks in Europe and the Middle East are also under investigation. The Department of Justice is also examining real estate-related payments made by this network to international brands including Hilton Worldwide Holdings.
