According to the Financial and Economic APP, on June 18th, the National Energy Administration released data on total electricity consumption for May. In May, total electricity consumption was 867.1 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 6.9% year-on-year. Looking at electricity consumption by sector, electricity consumption in the primary sector was 12.4 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 5.0% year-on-year. Electricity consumption in the secondary sector was 575.3 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 6.0% year-on-year; among them, industrial electricity consumption was 570.3 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 6.2%, and electricity consumption in the high-tech equipment manufacturing industry was 109.1 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 12.2% year-on-year. Electricity consumption in the tertiary sector was 170.4 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 9.7% year-on-year; among them, electricity consumption for charging and swapping services and internet data services was 14.9 billion and 9 billion kilowatt-hours respectively, with growth rates of 59.9% and 45.4% respectively. Electricity consumption for urban and rural residents' daily lives was 109 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 7.5% year-on-year.
