According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, in May, the electricity generated by large-scale industrial enterprises reached 784.3 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 4.2% year-on-year, with the growth rate accelerating by 1.6 percentage points compared to April; the daily average electricity generation was 253.0 billion kilowatt-hours. From January to May, the electricity generated by large-scale industrial enterprises reached 39.129 trillion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 3.6% year-on-year. By type, in May, the growth rate of thermal power generation by large-scale industrial enterprises slowed down, while the growth rates of hydropower and solar power generation accelerated, and nuclear power and wind power generation turned from a decrease to an increase. Specifically, the thermal power generation of large-scale industrial enterprises increased by 2.1% year-on-year in May, with the growth rate slowing down by 1.0 percentage point compared to April; hydropower generation by large-scale industrial enterprises increased by 13.0%, with the growth rate accelerating by 0.8 percentage points; nuclear power generation by large-scale industrial enterprises increased by 5.0%, compared to a 8.7% decrease in April; wind power generation by large-scale industrial enterprises increased by 0.5%, compared to a 5.0% decrease in April; solar power generation by large-scale industrial enterprises increased by 12.1%, with the growth rate accelerating by 5.0 percentage points.
