The British Maritime Trade Operations office said in a post on social media on the 10th that a cargo ship passing through the coastal waters of southern Yemen was approached by a small boat carrying armed personnel on the same day, and the two sides exchanged fire, with the small boat later retreating. The statement said that the agency received reports that a small boat carrying six armed persons approached the cargo ship and exchanged fire with the ship's armed security personnel. After the exchange of fire, the small boat left the scene. The incident occurred approximately 88 nautical miles southwest of Balhaf, Shabwa Province, Yemen. The statement said that the incident is still under investigation, and there are currently no reports of casualties or damage to the ship. The agency also reminded ships sailing in the relevant waters to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly.
