Internal post from the Alibaba Partners Committee: "The management of DingTalk does not reflect the culture of Alibaba."
The Alibaba Partner Committee posted an article on the company's intranet titled "Having Emotions, Ethics, and Growth is the Essence of Alibaba Culture", expressing a clear stance on the recent discussion sparked by the resignation letter of the former product manager of DingTalk.
The article criticizes the management style of the DingTalk team in harsh terms, directly pointing out that this is "not the way Alibaba culture should be". In addition to criticizing, the article by the Partner Committee elaborates on the direction that Alibaba culture should adhere to. "Mutual respect, treating people as humans, having emotions and ethics" are the essence of Alibaba's culture, and "regardless of how the times change, or how technology develops", the essence must not be altered.
Previously, DingTalk's management style has sparked external discussions multiple times. The Partner Committee conducted a serious discussion and reached a unanimous decision, emphasizing that "under no circumstances, no matter how urgent the tasks are", should this type of management be allowed, as "this is not the direction advocated by Alibaba culture".
The article points out that in the AI era, innovation does not rely on "high pressure and mechanical execution", but on the employees' love and creativity. Only by fully respecting the individual value of employees can true customer value be created. The responsibility of managers is to have "foresight, take initiative, unite and inspire the team", and "developing and inspiring people is the responsibility of every leader".
In the AI era, people are the most valuable asset, and it is necessary to adhere to having emotions and ethics, cultivating an open, inclusive, and diverse work culture.
