In 2025, Baosteel Group achieved an annual carbon reduction of over 2 million tons.

On June 5th, Baosteel released its 2025 Sustainable Development Report at the "Green Fusion, Carbon Future" World Environment Day theme event. The report shows that by 2025, Baosteel's carbon emissions intensity will decrease to 1.96 tons of carbon dioxide per ton of crude steel, an 8% decrease from the 2020 baseline year, achieving the interim target of the "14th Five-Year Plan" for carbon reduction. The company's annual energy-saving and low-carbon investment reached 3.2 billion yuan, and through comprehensive measures such as technological transformation, process optimization, and substitution of green electricity, it achieved an annual carbon reduction of over 2 million tons.
