Amidst mixed feelings about the development in the Middle East, oil prices fell slightly in early trading. Analysts at ANZ Research wrote in a research report that, on one hand, "Israel and Lebanon have declared a ceasefire, giving people hope that one of the key conditions for Iran to reach an agreement with the United States has been met." However, on the other hand, "there is little sign that the relationship between the two sides is improving," analysts at ANZ Research said. Analysts at ANZ Research also pointed out that US President Trump said negotiations are in the final stages, but Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi said negotiations have stalled. WTI crude oil futures in West Texas fell 0.2% in recent months to $92.84 per barrel.
