According to traders' reports, as the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company resumed exports through the Oman Suhar Port starting in May, Asian naphtha prices have fallen to their lowest level since early March. This alternative route can help alleviate supply shortages caused by the conflict between the United States and Iran. Due to the conflict, shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has been restricted, and the company suspended the external shipment of approximately 1 million tons of petrochemical feedstock naphtha from the Ruwais refinery in April. The UAE oil company resumed exports last month: first, the goods are shipped from the refinery by oil tankers in the Persian Gulf, then they are transferred to other oil tankers at the Suhar Port through ship-to-ship transfer for delivery to Asia. This alternate plan provides a backup supply channel for buyers who do not want to risk navigating through the Strait of Hormuz, increasing the delivery volume of this oil product to Asia.
