According to the Zhitong Finance and Economics APP, Omdia's senior chief analyst George Jijiashvili wrote that Google showcased its Android XR glasses at I/O 2026, confirming that it will launch AI glasses with audio support this fall, but did not provide any release schedule for the model with display functionality. Due to its overly cautious and slow progression strategy in this field, Google may further lag behind Meta; the latter is rapidly iterating and leading the market, despite lacking native mobile ecosystem support.
