Starting from June 1st, our country has fully entered the flood season, and the southern regions have entered the peak flood season. This year, there are some new characteristics in terms of rainfall and water conditions in our country. From the distribution map of rainfall departure from average since the beginning of the year, it can be seen that the spatial and temporal distribution of precipitation is uneven. Since the beginning of this year, the national average precipitation is 2% above the normal level for the same period. The dark blue areas indicate regions with precipitation exceeding 100% above normal, mainly distributed in the northeast, north China, and the Yangtze River basin. This year, the rivers that have exceeded the warning level are mainly concentrated in the Yangtze River basin and the Pearl River basin. Since the start of the flood season, 146 rivers in 18 provinces have experienced floods exceeding the warning level, with the majority being medium-sized and small rivers, exceeding the average level for the same period by 40%.
