According to insiders, hundreds of Tesla cars produced in the Shanghai Gigafactory have recently been shipped to Canada under a low tariff mechanism. Shipping data tracked by Bloomberg shows that in early May this year, the "Glovis Treasure" car carrier ship departed from Shanghai to Canada, also carrying a small number of Chinese-made Lotus luxury models. In addition, a consultant from BYD disclosed to Bloomberg last month that BYD is planning to open about 20 sales outlets in Canada in cooperation with local partners. Earlier this month, Lotus, a subsidiary of the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, released a video on Chinese social media showing 18 Eletre models being loaded onto a roll-on/roll-off ship. The starting price of this model in Canada is 119,900 Canadian dollars.
