According to Bloomberg's report on the 28th, with the official implementation of the China-Canada electric vehicle tariff quota agreement, electric vehicles manufactured in China are beginning to arrive in Canada. According to insiders, hundreds of Tesla cars produced in the Shanghai Gigafactory have recently been shipped to Canada under a low tariff mechanism. Shipping data tracked by Bloomberg shows that in early May this year, the "Glovis Treasure" car carrier ship departed from Shanghai to Canada, also carrying a small number of Chinese-made Lotus luxury models. In addition, a consultant from BYD disclosed to Bloomberg last month that BYD is planning to open about 20 sales outlets in Canada in cooperation with local partners. Earlier this month, Lotus, a subsidiary of the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, released a video on Chinese social media showing 18 Eletre models being loaded onto a roll-on/roll-off ship. The starting price of this model in Canada is 119,900 Canadian dollars. The caption of the video reads: "Creating a new record for Chinese electric car exports: from the Lotus global smart factory to the strength of setting sail in Canada, showing the world the power of Chinese smart manufacturing."
