Ministry of Water Resources: During the main flood season, the Yangtze River, Haihe River and other river basins may experience large floods.

According to the Ministry of Water Resources, it is expected that the main flood season in the Yangtze River basin will be affected by the El Nio event, including Dongting Lake and Poyang Lake water system; in the Haihe River basin, including Daqing River, Yongding River, Beisanhe River, and Luan River; in the Songliao River basin, including Nen River, Songhua River, Heilong River, Wusuli River, as well as Liao River, Hun River, and Taizi River; in the Huaihe River basin, including Yi, Shu, and Si rivers; in the Pearl River basin, including Beijiang, Hanjiang, as well as Nandu River in Hainan, Taihu Lake, Qiantang River, and Minjiang, may experience significant floods. The number of typhoons hitting China is expected to be higher than usual, with overall stronger intensity. The predominant path will be westward and northwestward, possibly affecting inland areas as the typhoons move northwards.
