Establishment of the Global Alliance for Poverty Reduction and Development Partnerships.

On May 27, at the 2026 High-Level Forum on Poverty Reduction and Development, the Global Alliance for Poverty Reduction and Development announced its establishment. The alliance was jointly initiated by China, 53 countries, and 9 international institutions, marking an important step in the global poverty reduction cause's new journey. The alliance adheres to mutual respect and mutual learning, respects the poverty reduction and development strategies chosen autonomously by each country in accordance with its own national conditions, promotes the exchange of poverty reduction governance experience among countries, explores together the path to fundamentally eliminate poverty, adheres to action-oriented and win-win cooperation, encourages members to carry out capacity building and practical cooperation based on their own conditions and advantages, jointly improve the global poverty reduction governance system, adhere to precision and practicality, people-oriented, call for precise measures to eliminate all forms of poverty and prevent relapse into poverty, adhere to openness, inclusiveness, orthodoxy, and innovation, welcome diverse entities such as governments, international organizations, private sectors, academic institutions, media, etc. to join forces to create a fair, inclusive, non-discriminatory, and sustainable development environment.
