According to Indian officials, India is currently testing some of the most sensitive and public-facing financial and government applications to better assess potential vulnerabilities when facing the next generation AI model, Mythos, developed by Anthropic. Indian tech giant Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services, among other companies, are testing the security of their software in a controlled environment against Mythos vulnerabilities. Additionally, the Indian national cybersecurity agency CERT-In is conducting tests on critical digital infrastructure, including the Aadhaar national identification system and government login systems. Since these companies currently do not have access to Mythos, they are using the Anthropic Claude Opus 4.7 model to patch vulnerabilities. Sources have revealed that the Reserve Bank of India has held multiple meetings with domestic banks to warn them about potential risks posed by Mythos. Last month, Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that India is closely monitoring the potential threats from Mythos and has instructed banks to strengthen vigilance to ensure the security of IT systems, customer data, and financial resources.
