The coverage of basic public services in urban areas in our country is continuously expanding.
This afternoon, the State Council Information Office held a regular policy briefing. The relevant person in charge of the National Development and Reform Commission stated that in recent years, the implementation of basic public services for permanent residents has made positive progress. The coverage of basic urban public services continues to expand, with approximately three quarters of basic public service projects being accessible to permanent residents without household registration. The proportion of migrant children in compulsory education attending public schools or having access to government-purchased places in private schools has increased to 97%. More new urban residents have access to public rental housing, participate in social insurance in cities, and the coverage of cross-regional medical treatment services continues to expand.
