On May 26, the Southern Power Grid announced that at 20:21 on May 25, the power load of the Southern Power Grid set a new historical high, increasing by 1.83 million kilowatts compared to the historical peak, an increase of 0.71%. This new high load came nearly a month earlier than in previous years, breaking the seasonal pattern of peak loads being concentrated in June and July from 2020 to 2025. That night, the power load of the Guangxi and Hainan power grids simultaneously set new records.
