According to the Ministry of Commerce, from January to April 2026, Chinese enterprises' non-financial direct investment in countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative was 85.55 billion RMB, a decrease of 7% year-on-year. In terms of outbound contract projects, Chinese enterprises signed new contract projects worth 497.3 billion RMB in countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, an increase of 6.8% year-on-year; they also completed business turnover of 318.72 billion RMB, an increase of 16%.
