The local newspaper "Guominbao" quoted Argentine President Javier Milei as saying in a speech at an event that the government will lower export taxes on agricultural products. Milei stated that starting from June 2026, the export tax on wheat and barley will be reduced from 7.5% to 5.5%. It was reported that Milei also announced a reduction in export taxes on soybeans starting from January.
