Reporters learned from Sinopec that the "Deep Earth Engineering Sichuan-Chongqing Natural Gas Base" of Sinopec has achieved another breakthrough. The proven geological reserves of 2356.87 billion cubic meters of shale gas in the Dongfeng shale gas field in Ziyang, Sichuan, submitted by Sinopec Southwest Oil and Gas Branch, have been approved by a panel of experts from the Ministry of Natural Resources. This marks the birth of China's first shale gas field with reserves of over 100 billion cubic meters in ultra-deep layers, successfully advancing shale gas exploration and development to depths exceeding 4500 meters, entering a new era of ultra-deep layers. This achievement is of great significance in further consolidating the foundation of national energy security, expanding the strategic space for increasing reserves and production on a large scale.
