Russian private aerospace company plans to build a launch site for ultra-light rockets.
Russian media reported on the 10th that the Russian private aerospace company Space Energy Corporation plans to start construction of an ultra-light rocket launch site in the Russian Far East in 2026. According to Russian news agency TASS on the 10th, the launch site is planned to have multiple launch pads, with a designed annual launch capacity of up to 50 times, mainly serving the company's independently developed "Orbit" ultra-light carrier rocket. The company stated that the "Orbit" rocket was originally scheduled to launch for the first time in 2027, but could potentially be launched earlier this year if the project progresses smoothly. The report states that the "Orbit" rocket can deliver a payload of 250 kilograms to low Earth orbit or a payload of 150 kilograms to a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 600 kilometers to 800 kilometers. The company stated that the location of the launch site is favorable for satellites to efficiently enter sun-synchronous and polar orbits, and provides a safe ocean landing area.
