On May 10th local time, the first batch of Spanish passengers and crew evacuated from the "Humboldt" cruise ship boarded a military plane from the southern airport of Tenerife Island at noon, heading to the Spanish capital Madrid. It is understood that these evacuees have undergone strict preliminary medical assessments at the port of Granadilla in Tenerife. To ensure safety during transport, all evacuees wore protective masks and blue specialized protective suits on the transport bus and plane, and the transport vehicles were escorted by the Spanish Civil Guard throughout the journey. Spanish Health Minister Monica Garcia confirmed at the evacuation site that the evacuees' health conditions were stable and showed no symptoms of infection. As planned, the military plane will land at the Torrejon de Ardoz Air Base in Madrid. Upon landing, these individuals will be directly transported to the Gomez Ulla Central Defense Hospital. There, they will undergo a three-week medical quarantine and further virus testing. Currently, the repatriation of foreign passengers at the port of Tenerife is ongoing. Personnel from countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, and Greece will be evacuated gradually after screening, and the last batch of Australian passengers is expected to be repatriated tomorrow. The Spanish government stated that after all personnel have been evacuated, the cruise ship will leave the Canary Islands for Rotterdam, the Netherlands, for a full ship disinfection.
