According to media reports citing an informed source, Anthropic has pledged to spend $200 billion on Google Cloud services over the next five years, as part of a recent agreement between the two parties. This commitment indicates that this artificial intelligence startup accounts for over 40% of the unrealized revenue disclosed by Google to investors last week. In response to this news, Alphabet's stock price rose by about 2% in after-hours trading on Tuesday. In April, Anthropic signed an agreement with Google and its chip partner Broadcom to obtain exaFLOPS of tensor processing unit computing power, expected to be operational by 2027. Alphabet also plans to invest up to $40 billion in Anthropic to deepen their cooperation. Reports indicate that contracts involving Anthropic and OpenAI currently make up over half of the $2 trillion in orders from major cloud service providers such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. With investments in the field of artificial intelligence and the thriving cloud business, Alphabet's stock price has seen record gains and is poised to surpass NVIDIA as the world's most valuable company.
