Due to demand-driven shortages of artificial intelligence (AI) and tight processor supply, Apple has raised the starting price of its Mac mini desktop computer from $599 to $799. The company has discontinued the entry-level configuration with an M4 processor and 256GB storage space; the computer now starts with the same chip but with storage increased to 512GB. Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that the shortage is related to the supply capacity of system-on-chip (SoC) and that the demand for Mac mini and Mac Studio computers used to run artificial intelligence is higher than expected.
