The European Union has instructed Google's parent company Alphabet to open up the Android operating system to allow competing artificial intelligence services to access it so they can compete with Google services. This is the latest move by the EU against the market monopolistic behavior of the search giant. The European Commission stated on Monday that Google should ensure that competitive artificial intelligence services can "effectively interact" with applications on Android devices. The Commission pointed out that these services should be able to perform tasks such as sending emails using the user's preferred email application, placing orders through a delivery app, or sharing photos with the user's friends.
