Establishment of National Key Laboratory for Marine Equipment Metal Materials and Application Shenzhen Bay Area Center.

Recently, the National Key Laboratory for Ocean Equipment Metal Materials and their Applications, Shenzhen Bay Area Center, was established. Representatives from the Shenzhen Ocean Development Bureau, Anshan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd., Southern University of Science and Technology (Shenzhen Maritime University Preparatory Office), China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd., and CNOOC Limited Shenzhen Branch signed a memorandum of cooperation to jointly establish the center. This marks the official establishment of a high-level innovation platform in the field of new marine materials in Shenzhen, injecting strong technological energy into the city's development towards the sea. As a new benchmark in the field of marine new materials in Shenzhen, the center precisely targets industry pain points, focusing on high-end marine material research and development, marine corrosion and protection, and other key technology breakthroughs, striving to create a "trinity" innovation platform integrating the source of original technology for marine metal materials, a strategic emerging industry incubator, and a connector for the marine industry ecosystem.
