Eight departments: the use of algorithm recommendation technology to carry out online marketing must not set up algorithm models that induce financial consumers and investors to over-consume.
The People's Bank of China and seven other departments have issued the "Regulations on the Management of Financial Product Online Marketing". It is mentioned that when using algorithm recommendation technology for online marketing, algorithm models that induce financial consumers and investors to overconsume shall not be set up. When sending marketing information to financial consumers and investors or making marketing calls, the option to refuse or unsubscribe should be provided. If financial consumers and investors refuse or unsubscribe, marketing information shall not be sent to them again through the same method. When using algorithm recommendation technology for marketing to financial consumers and investors, options that do not target their personal characteristics should be provided, or options to easily turn off algorithm recommendation services should be provided.
