The 2026 Global Food Crisis Report released on April 24th local time shows that in 2025, 266 million people in 47 countries and regions around the world were in a state of severe food insecurity, a decrease from 2024, but due to a lack of complete data, the actual situation has not improved. The number of people facing "severe hunger" globally remains at a high level over the past two decades.
