Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz stated on social media on the 16th that Pakistan is firmly committed to promoting an agreement between the United States and Iran aimed at achieving lasting peace and stability in the region. Shahbaz said that he met with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on that day and had a friendly and constructive discussion. Shahbaz also said that he briefed Mohammed on Pakistan's recent efforts to promote a ceasefire between the US and Iran and facilitate a historic meeting in Islamabad, and thanked Mohammed for his support to Pakistan. The Prime Minister's Office of Pakistan also issued a statement on the same day, saying that during the friendly meeting that lasted nearly two hours, the two leaders had in-depth discussions on the evolving regional situation.
