Maritime intelligence company Lloyd's List has stated that after the announcement of the US President's plan to block the Strait of Hormuz, some ships immediately turned back as traffic in the already restricted strait came to a halt. The statement mentioned that shipping in the strait was continuing on Sunday before the blockade was announced, although with reduced traffic. However, after Trump announced the implementation of the maritime blockade, all traffic seemed to have stopped, with at least two ships that were seemingly leaving the strait turning back.
