State Administration for Market Regulation releases the 2026 national supervision and random inspection plan for product quality.
The reporter learned today that the State Administration for Market Regulation has released the 2026 National Supervision and Sampling Plan for Product Quality, organizing national supervision and sampling for 173 key industrial products in 8 categories including electronic appliances, building materials, and decoration materials. The plan is to conduct inspections on more than 17,000 batches. The sampling will focus on identifying problems, increasing inspections on products used by vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children, as well as products with previously high failure rates, high public complaints, and high quality safety risks such as mobile power sources and electric vehicle charging stations. The focus will also be on online sales, with 115 types of products sampled, accounting for 47% of the total number of samples, a 7% increase from 2025. In addition to major e-commerce platforms, inspections will also be increased on small and medium-sized e-commerce platforms. To prevent irrational competition, key inspections will be carried out on products with significantly lower prices and higher safety risks. To coordinate regulatory resources, the State Administration for Market Regulation will organize joint inspections between national and local authorities for 17 products including drones and electric bicycles, increasing inspections on products in industrial clusters and regions with higher quality and safety risks. Any quality issues discovered during the inspections will be dealt with seriously and legally by the market regulation authorities, forming a complete regulatory loop.
