On the 10th, Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, met with Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the central headquarters of the Workers' Party in Pyongyang. Wang Yi conveyed warm greetings from General Secretary Xi Jinping to General Secretary Kim Jong-un, warmly congratulating the successful convening of the 9th Party Congress of the Workers' Party and the 15th Supreme People's Assembly of North Korea. He expressed firm belief that under the strong leadership of Comrade Kim Jong-un, the entire Korean people working together, the socialist construction of North Korea will continue to make new progress. Wang Yi stated that in September last year, General Secretary Kim Jong-un successfully visited China, attended the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and held a historic meeting with General Secretary Xi Jinping, providing strategic guidance for China-North Korea relations and opening a new chapter in bilateral relations. China is willing to work with North Korea to implement important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries, to enhance exchanges and cooperation, and to inject new meaning into China-North Korea traditional friendship. General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that both China and North Korea are socialist countries led by communist parties, sharing common ideals and goals. In the face of complex international situations, China and North Korea should strengthen communication and coordination in major international and regional affairs while firmly defending their sovereignty, security, and development interests, making necessary contributions to safeguarding the common interests of developing countries and world peace and development. Kim Jong-un welcomed Wang Yi's visit and asked him to convey warm greetings and good wishes to General Secretary Xi Jinping. Kim Jong-un expressed that the memory of the meeting with General Secretary Xi Jinping during his visit to China in September last year is still fresh in his mind. He is pleased to see that the important consensus reached with General Secretary Xi Jinping is being concretely implemented, and China-North Korea relations are being elevated to a new level in accordance with the will and aspirations of the two parties and two countries. In the current rapidly changing international situation, deepening and developing China-North Korea relations meets the common interests of both countries, and it is the firm will and established policy of the North Korean party and government. North Korea fully supports General Secretary Xi Jinping's vision of a community with a shared future for mankind and the Four Global Initiatives, and firmly supports China's rightful position and efforts to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity on issues such as Taiwan. North Korea is willing to take the opportunity of the grand blueprint established at the 9th Party Congress to continue to deepen the friendly cooperation relationship with China centered on socialism, enhance high-level exchanges, intensify strategic communication, firmly support each other, promote the development of socialism in both countries, and play a role in the welfare of the two peoples and world peace and stability. At the invitation of the North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi visited North Korea from April 9th to 10th. During the visit, Wang Yi held in-depth talks with North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Son-gwon and paid respects at the Chinese People's Volunteers Martyrs Cemetery in Jiangdong County.
