Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Deputy Chairman Huang Zhiqiang: Will expand the import of non-ferrous metals and other resources and accelerate the construction of deep processing bases.
Huang Zhiqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Executive Vice Chairman of the Autonomous Region, stated at the State Council's regular policy briefing on the 10th that Inner Mongolia will rely on its energy resources to build a national important energy and strategic resource base. Inner Mongolia ranks first in the country in terms of new energy installed capacity, coal production capacity, total installed electricity capacity, electricity exports, and reserves of 20 kinds of minerals. The "Overall Plan for China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone" proposes tasks such as "supporting the construction of import resource reserve bases for copper, potash fertilizer, fluorite, etc., and deep processing bases for non-ferrous metals and liquefied petroleum gas". Inner Mongolia will rely on the linkage between ports and inland areas to expand the import of resources such as non-ferrous metals, accelerate the construction of deep processing bases, and continuously improve the processing and transformation rate of imported resources.
