Sino-Russian veto of UN resolution on the Strait of Hormuz

On April 7th local time, the United Nations Security Council voted on a draft resolution concerning the Strait of Hormuz submitted by Bahrain and other countries. Due to differences among member states regarding the wording and response measures, the draft resolution ultimately failed to pass with 11 votes in favor, 2 abstentions, and opposition from the two permanent members China and Russia.
