Yang Yuanqing donated 200 million to his alma mater, Shanghai Jiaotong University, to support artificial intelligence innovation and talent development.

On April 6th, Lenovo Group's Chairman and CEO, Shanghai Jiao Tong University director, and alumnus of the Computer Science department in 1981, Yang Yuanqing, announced a personal donation of 200 million RMB to his alma mater in support of the renovation of the old building in the Teaching Building 3 at the Xuhui campus. After the renovation, the building will be used to support research and innovation in the field of artificial intelligence and talent development. At the same time, Lenovo Group and Shanghai Jiao Tong University jointly announced the upgrade of their strategic cooperation. Lenovo Group will invest another 300 million RMB in the next 5 years, and the two parties will deepen their research cooperation, talent development, and technology investment incubation in innovative fields such as artificial intelligence.
