On April 1st, it was reported by the national pipeline network that the two compressor units at the Quzhou Compressor Station of the second West-to-East Gas Pipeline completed a 72-hour trial operation after converting from gas turbines to electric motors. All performance indicators met the design specifications, marking the successful completion of the first compressor unit "fuel-to-electric" conversion in the field of long-distance pipeline transportation in China. The "fuel-to-electric" conversion project for pipeline compressor units replaces traditional gas power systems with efficient electric motor drive systems, eliminating the use of natural gas as a power fuel. This not only reduces emissions but also improves operational efficiency and reduces maintenance costs. The newly commissioned project includes the installation of two 18-megawatt motors, inverters, and related auxiliary systems, with a design pressure of 10 megapascals. All equipment used is domestically made, and the core components of the compressor unit have been updated simultaneously, further enhancing operational efficiency, stability, and maintenance convenience.
