According to the Ministry of Water Resources, China officially entered the flood season today. In the coming days, there will be multiple rounds of rainfall in the southern region, while most of the northern region will experience winds exceeding level 5. Experts explain that the flood season in southern China is generally from April to October, while in the northern region it is usually from June to September. The start of the flood season each year is determined by two indicators: accumulated rainfall of over 50 millimeters in a rain area covering 150,000 square kilometers for three consecutive days, or if any Flood Season Monitoring Station exceeds the alert water level. If the start of the flood season is later than April 1st, then April 1st will be considered the official start date. Therefore, this year China entered the flood season on April 1st, which is consistent with the average start date in previous years.
